
Season 13 of "Road Rules" won't just be another season of six young-adult archetypes in an RV. This time, it's "X-Treme."
No, really -- it's right there in the title of the series, "Road Rules X-Treme in South America."
The six Roadies for this edition of the long-running MTV series -- which premieres at 10 p.m. ET Monday, June 7 -- will take their X-Treme RV (seriously. That's what MTV is calling it) through Argentina and Chile. Along the way, they'll face challenges like rappelling down a 210-foot waterfall and bungee-jumping over an active volcano.
As usual, if the team fails two challenges in a row, one of its members is sent packing.
Here's a brief bio of the six X-Treme "Road Rules" contestants:
Derrick is the son of Polish immigrants and was captain of his high school football, baseball and basketball teams despite standing only 5-foot-6. The Illinois native coaches youth football and favors short-term relationships.Ibis is a "spunky little firecracker," MTV says. The 19-year-old was born in Puerto Rico and moved with her family to Florida at age 10. She holds strongly to her beliefs and attends Mass every Sunday.Kina is 20 and tired of men constantly wanting her and women always being jealous. Although often accused of being self-centered, she "also has an extremely compassionate side."Patrick, 20, attends an Ivy League school, where he's a wrestler. Originally from Illinois, he's majoring in biology with the hope of becoming a surgeon and providing for his single mother.Daniel has a boyfriend of 10 months but says he's still attracted to women as well. The 21-year-old from New Jersey lives with his mom and "prides himself on his masculinity," MTV says.Jodi is the oldest member of the group at 23. She has a "work hard, play hard" philosophy and prefers sports and cars over more typically girly things. She recently ended a long-term relationship and is enjoying her new singlehood.
